The Governing Body unanimously accepted the sculpture "Converge," for the Convention Center circle drive facing College Boulevard.

The artist, Steven Richardson of Lawrence, is an experienced sculptor who seems to effortlessly bend massive steel plates to create art of profound beauty and flowing grace.

The cost of the project, including installation, was $63,200 with one half of the funds being provided by the City and the other half from funds raised by the Friends of the OP Arts and the Arts and Recreation Foundation.
