The beauty for all to see...
The Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Blvd., is not your typical facility.
More than 50 artists, most with ties to Kansas and Missouri, have their works permanently on display in the center.
Pieces include a 30-foot blown-glass chandelier, sculpture, paintings, metalwork and more. All types of media highlight walls and open spaces.
Additionally, the center features Art at the Center, a rotating exhibition of six various shows a year, in the climate-controlled walkway between the Convention Center and adjacent Sheraton Overland Park Hotel.
Docent Tours: If your group would like a tour of the city's permanent art collection housed at the OP Convention Center and Art at the Center, simply contact the city’s arts coordinator, Julie K. Bilyea at 913/344-8656 to schedule. Tours typically take 45 minutes to one hour.
