This project includes:
- Widening 143rd from Antioch to Metcalf to accommodate four lanes of traffic
- A raised median
- Left turn lanes at required locations
- Two new US Highway 69 bridges
- City-standard street lighting
- Underground storm sewers
- A five-foot concrete sidewalk on the south side
- A 10-foot hike/bike path on the north side and
- A new right turn lane for westbound 143rd to northbound Metcalf.
All four lanes of U.S. Highway 69 at 143rd Street are back open as well as one eastbound lane and one westbound lane of 143rd Street between Antioch Road and Metcalf Avenue.
The $8.2 million project, which is part of the 2007 Capital Improvements Program, is expected to be finished in June 2008, including landscaping, weather permitting.
