Widening of Metcalf, 99th to 103rd

Metcalf, between 99th and 103rd streetsMetcalf Avenue is part of a 2007 project that includes the reconstruction and widening of Metcalf from 99th to 103rd streets.

This $8.6 million project includes reconstruction and widening to accommodate three lanes of through traffic, a raised median with landscaping, left and right turn lanes at required locations, one larger bridge over Indian Creek, city-standard street lighting, underground storm sewers, a five-foot concrete sidewalk on the west side of the roadway, a new bridge (con-span) west of Metcalf Avenue at 101st Street, traffic signal modifications at Metcalf and 99th Street and an eight-foot asphalt bike trail on the east side. Also included in this project is mill and overlay on Metcalf from 103rd Street south to the Interstate 435 interchange.

Construction started in May 2007. The contractor is Pyramid Construction.

Traffic is limited to two lanes in each direction over the bridge at 103rd Street. This limitation is expected to last through June 2008. No turns will be allowed at 103rd Street for southbound traffic on Metcalf.
