Dan Minteer was one of life’s true optimists. He always looked for the bright spot in just about everything. This was never more evident than with his dealings with other people. He worked very hard to find the bright internal light in each of us.

No matter how dim or well hidden, he looked for something good to say about each and every person he encountered. From the people he worked with to citizens he worked for, he found value in each.

In a profession where examples of man’s inhumanity to man is ever present, he never lost sight of the goodness to be found. He truly believed that most people were genuinely good, and he intrinsically knew that good people could find themselves in bad situations. Most importantly, he treated all individuals with the respect, dignity and recognition that having a positive attitude about your fellow man can provide.

For his unwavering belief in man’s basic desire for goodness, Dan Minteer leaves a "legacy of excellence."
