Indian Creek Hike/Bike Trail

Two bicyclists enjoy the Indian Creek Hike/Bike TrailThe Indian Creek Hike/Bike Trail is almost 17 miles long (about 10 miles are in Overland Park).

The Overland Park portion starts at the Foxhill South Park, 109th and El Monte, and follows the creek south and west to the Forest Creek Park, 125th and Pflumm. A connecting link continues south along Quivira towards the Tomahawk Creek Trail via 127th and Nieman.

The trails are designed for bicyclists, walkers, joggers, skaters, etc. Dogs are allowed on leashes. The terrain is generally level and flat. There are some steep grades for short segments of the trail.

Shawnee Mission Park

Shawnee Mission Park is a 1,250-acre park located at 79th and Renner Road. Developed facilities include a 150-acre lake popular for boating, fishing, and sailboarding; 12 shelters; numerous picnic areas; horseback and nature trails; play areas; an archery range; a swimming beach with bathhouse concession; and marina.

Mill Creek Streamway

The Mill Creek Streamway Park has more than 17 miles of pedestrian and bicycle trails and four miles of horseback riding trails available for public use. In all, the trail extends from Nelson Island on the Kansas River, south through the cities of Shawnee and Lenexa, and ending in the City of Olathe.
