Overland Park offers weekly curbside recycling to all
residents with individual trash
collection for $1.75 per month.
Papers: newspapers, magazines, junk mail, office paper, catalogs and phone books.
Bag papers in a paper sack. Newspaper slicks and window envelopes are okay. Put your bagged papers on top to keep everything else from blowing around.
Boxes: Corrugated cardboard (heavier boxes with wavy middle), chipboard (cereal and household product boxes) and carrier stock (soft drink and beer boxes).
Remove all merchandise, bags and packaging and flatten. If boxes don't fit in bin, place under bin at curb.
Plastics: #1 containers and #2 bottles with a neck.
Rinse lightly, remove caps and, if possible, stomp to flatten.
Metals: aluminum, steel food and beverage cans.
-
Please rinse lightly. Place lid inside of can and
pinch can top to keep lid from dropping out. Flatten if convenient. Labels
are okay.
No glass! The drop-off recycling center at 11921 Hardy (turn between Time Warner and the fire station) will continue to accept your bottles and jars.
