Read the label and follow the directions. Be aware of product uses and dangers. Use proper safety equipment when working with hazardous materials. If the product recommends use of gloves or goggles, use them.
Leave products in their original container. Make sure all products are clearly labeled.
Don't make yourself guess what is in a container. Never put hazardous products in food or beverage containers.
Do not mix products unless directed to do so by label directions. This may cause dangerous reactions.
Use only what is needed for a job. Twice as much doesn't mean twice the results.
If pregnant, avoid toxic chemical exposure as much as possible. Many products have not been tested for their effects on unborn children.
Avoid wearing soft contact lenses when working with solvents and pesticides. They can absorb vapors from the air and hold the chemical near your eyes.
Use products in well-ventilated areas to avoid inhaling fumes. Open windows and use fans when possible.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using hazardous products. Traces of hazardous chemicals can be carried from hand to mouth.
