The Administrative Prosecutor directly manages the day to day operations of the Prosecutors' Office and directly supervises and evaluates the performance of the Prosecutors, the Victim Assistance Coordinator and their support staff.

He/she and the three prosecutors prosecute all cases involving violations of City ordinances in the Municipal Court, and on appeal in the Johnson County District Court, the Kansas Court of Appeals and Supreme Court as well.

They administer the City's DUI Diversion Program; they plea negotiate cases within the limitations established by the Model Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys, state statutes and departmental policies; they emphasize the prosecution of code cases; and they represent the City in administrative appeals relating to dangerous animals, multiple animal permits and alarm fees.

The Victim Assistance Coordinator administers the City's Victim Assistance Program.
