This commission reviews, approves and assists the police department in the promotion process for police officers below the rank of Captain.

It also serves as an appeals board when commissioned police officers below the rank of Captain are terminated, demoted or suspended for disciplinary reasons and for those purposes otherwise provided in the Employee Handbook.

The Civil Service Commission meets as necessary for promotions or when there is an appeal in regard to disciplinary action. There are no scheduled meetings.
