- Approved Agreement with Johnson County Interfaith Hospitality Network, Inc., to provide a Community Development Block Grant for the partial funding of a case management staff member position at the Interfaith Hospitality Network’s Johnson County office in the amount of $5,465.
- Approved Agreement with Johnson County Parks and Recreation District, to provide a Community Development Block Grant for scholarship assistance for income-eligible Overland Park families for a summer day camp program in the amount of $15,433.
- Approved Agreement with the Russian Community Center to provide a Community Development Block Grant for the Russian Community Center Training Program for income-eligible Overland Park residents in the amount of $4,971.
- Approved Agreement with Safehome, Inc., to provide a Community Development Block Grant to purchase and install a large room divider/mobile partition in an existing general purpose room at the Safehome new domestic violence shelter in the amount of $16,200.
- Approved Agreement with TLC for Children and Families, Inc., to provide a Community Development Block Grant for partial funding of a youth crisis worker position at TLC’s Olathe, Kansas, office in the amount of $8,630.
- Approved Agreement with Board of Commissioners of Johnson County to provide a Community Development Block Grant for minor home repair and revitalization services for income-eligible Overland Park home owners in the amount of $100,000.
- Denied Ordinance No. LC-2614, designating the Wells Family Home, 6907 Metcalf, a local historic landmark.
- Denied Ordinance No. LC-2615, designating the Woods Family Home, 6727 Metcalf, a local historic landmark.
- Reported on the abatement of the dangerous and unsafe structure at 7924 Santa Fe Drive and recommended the delay of scheduled public hearing from May 15, 2006, until June 19, 2006, to allow the owner reasonable time to complete the demolition work thereby abating the unsafe and dangerous condition.
- Approved the installation of an eight-foot tall dog-eared cedar fence, with a 12-foot gate, for an approximate cost of $7,600, to shield the unsightli-ness of both the east and west sides of the property at 7924 Santa Fe Drive, until the demolition is completed and the hole is filled in, at which time the fence can be used at other City locations.
- Held executive session for the purpose of discussing matters of attorney/ client privilege relating to condemnation appeals arising from the I-435 and Antioch interchange project.
