    PUBLIC SAFETY: STAFF ITEMS:

  5. Accepted bid from Envelope Man Plus in the amount of $9,198.08 for the quantitative purchase of stationery.

  6. Accepted Report to the Governing Body No. 05-03 and authorized staff to negotiate contract with Midwest Employer’s Casualty, option No. 1, for the self-funded workers’ compensation program excess insurance for an estimated annual premium of $50,668; the retention for police and fire personnel will be $350,000 and the retention for all other personnel will be $300,000.

  7. Accepted Report to the Governing Body No. 05-04, approved a waiver of the bid process, and authorized staff to negotiate an agreement with Thomas McGee for workers’ compensation third party administration in the amount of $27,303 for 2006.

  8. Approved Resolution No. 3497, describing the corporate limits and boundaries of the City of Overland Park, Kansas.

  9. Approved Addendum No. 1 to the existing Architectural Services Agreement with Hoefer Wysocki Architects for professional services associated with the Municipal Court Weapons Screening Project for the W.Jack Sanders Justice Center, for a fixed base fee of $46,828, plus reimbursable expenses not to exceed $5,500.

  10. Adopted strategy for the Overland Park municipal swimming pools as recommended by the Community Development Committee with an amendment eliminating the dates for item Nos. 3, 4, and 5.

  11. Waived the bid process and authorized staff to negotiate an agreement with Kansas Correctional Industries for the 2006 microfilm services for the Planning and Development Services Department.

  12. Approved the closure of the unsafe structures action regarding the property at 8144 Hadley, since the dangerous and unsafe condition has been abated.

  13. Accepted the bid from low E-Z Go of Kansas City for the four-year lease of 130 golf carts in the amount of $62,601.50 per year for the years 2006 through 2009; and the four-year lease of one beverage cart in the amount of $3,245.89 per year for the years 2006 through 2009 for the Overland Park Golf Course.

  14. Approved KDOT Agreement No. 143-04 and Resolution No 3498, which authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said agreement for the construction of a pedestrian bike/hike path along 110th Street from Woodson to Nall, with the City paying 20 percent of the cost of the project in the amount of $26,766 and with 80 percent of the project to be paid by federal funds in the amount of $133,830.

  15. Approved Ordinance No. Z-3167 (Rezoning No. 2005-19), vicinity of the northwest corner of 167th Street and Quivira, to rezone to R-1, Single-Family Residential District, to allow a single-family residential Development.

  16. Approved Ordinance No. Z-3168 (Rezoning No. 2005-20), vicinity of the northwest corner of 167th Street and Quivira, to rezone to RP-OE, Planned Open Space Estate Residential District, to allow a single-family residential development, with the requested deviation to allow 156 lots, and with stipulations a through g.

  17. Heard report from the Mid-America Regional Council.
