Meeting held 10-7-02, establishing stream setback requirements:
- Ordinance No. ZRR-2382, relating to the UDO for the City; establishing stream corridor requirements by adding a new Chapter 18.365 titled “Stream Corridor Requirements” and revising Section 18.360.200;
- Ordinance No. SDR-2390, regarding methods of conveying storm water;
- Ordinance No. NU-2389, regarding areas within a stream corridor to
be maintained in a natural condition.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – Committee Items:
- The Committee endorsed the traffic improvements projects suggested in the Destination Downtown Overland Park Traffic Study and directed staff to submit the projects for Council consideration in the upcoming CIP process;
- Resolution No. 3289, consenting to the enlargement of Blue River No. 15 Sewer District on behalf of property owners in the Garnett Hill Subdivision located at Switzer Road and 164th Street;
- Agreement with Deffenbaugh Industries Inc., for renewal of recycling agreement through the year 2005 at the current participant rate of $1.75 per household per month.
PUBLIC SAFETY – Staff Items:
- Applications for renewal of massage therapy business licenses for Blue Valley Physical Therapy, 15100 Metcalf and Double Take, 13459 Switzer.
PUBLIC WORKS – Committee Items:
- Approved the 2003 Street Maintenance Program allowing the program to be designed and contracts awarded in the spring of 2003;
- Creation of storm sewer improvement district at 67th Street and Glenwood, estimated at $150,845 with $9,216 assessed to the property owner; remaining $141,629.50 is eligible for SMAC funding of which 75 percent is covered by County, and City portion covered with Storm Water Utility funds;
- Excise Tax remain at current rate for one year;
