Features of this type of neighborhood include a more compact district with houses closer to the street; a mixture of residential uses, including single family, townhomes and apartments; smaller lot sizes; a connected street network; homes with front porches; small open green spaces; alleys for vehicle access and parking; and more.
Another design characteristic is a mixture of residential and commercial usage that complements a development.
