Individuals or companies wishing to collect solid waste in Overland Park must first obtain a permit. The requirements for permits and operating a solid waste collection business can be found in section 7.36 of the city's municipal code.
Collection companies are automatically licensed when they obtain their first permit. There is a fee of $25 per company licensed and $75 per truck permitted.
Permits are good for a calendar year and must be renewed to continue operation in Overland Park.
