OPEN Burn Permit

A permit is required for any open burning on any public street, alley, road, or other public or private ground.

Open burn permits may be obtained by calling, faxing, visiting, or emailing the Overland Park Fire Department, Administration Building, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (no holidays).

There is no fee for a burn permit.

Please contact the Fire Department as far in advance as possible to assist in timely processing of your permit.

An inspector from OPFD will call to schedule a time to come out to look at the area where you are wanting to burn.

The inspector will leave the burn permit with you after they have completed a satisfactory on-site inspection.
