Fees for service

The Overland Park Fire Department is required to conduct periodic inspections of all commercial, educational, institutional and multi-family residential buildings within the city to ensure compliance with fire and life safety regulations.

In accordance with direction from the City Council, the fire department will begin assessing a service fee for these inspections:

* Fee structure based on square footage of occupancy
* Re-inspection return times may vay depending on the severity of the violation

If no violations are found - no fee


If violations corrected - no fee

If violations corrected- no fee

If violations are found - 30 days to correct


If violations still exist - 1 week warning, assess fee

If violations still exist - 2nd warning (time determined by inspector), assess fee
If violations still exist - assess fee, issue notice to appear
