The City Council recently passed a new ordinance (OPMC 7.26.300) requiring the registration of all single family, duplex or tri-plex rental properties.

The information gathered during the registration process will be used to locate single family, duplex and tri-plex rental properties as well as to provide contact information on the individuals who own the property should the city need to contact them in the event of an emergency or code violation.

To register, the owner will need to pay a yearly, $10 fee per property (Jan. 1-Dec. 31). The fee is due on or before Dec. 31.

After Dec. 31, a penalty of $10 per property will be added for late payments.

Courtesy letters were mailed to property owners that the county suggested may be rental property owners.

If you did not receive a letter from the city, please contact Community Services about registering.
