Permit
Issuance:
Permit Services staff issues commercial and residential building,
land disturbance and site development permits.
As part of permit issuance, we ensure that the appropriate construction documents are submitted and completed correctly, collect fees and verify compliance with Johnson County Contractors Licensing requirements.
Plan Submittal Coordination:
Plans for commercial and residential permits are submitted to Permit
Services then logged in and routed through an Initial Screening Process. Applicants
are notified by fax the following working day if plans have been accepted
or if additional information is needed to do a full review. Permit Services
also prepares plan review comment letters.
Inspection Coordination:
Permit Services (913/895-6220, Ext. 2) schedules all inspections for building, land
disturbance and site development permits. Project
files containing permit
information, correspondence and inspection reports are maintained by address
for each permit. These records also are available via the Online
Development Center.
A detailed description of the permit process can be found in Chapter 6 of the city's Developer Handbook.
