Walking School Bus Program
Overland Park is helping parents and students hop on the bus.
The city has teamed up with three local schools to start Kansas' first formal Walking School Bus.
The "walking school bus" is a fun, safe and active way for children to travel to and from school with adult supervision.
Each "bus," or group of students, walk to school with one or more adults, who serve as "drivers," and are responsible for getting the students to and from school safely.
The program is active at: Pawnee, Indian Valley and Sunset Ridge elementary schools.
