Overland Park, KS - If you travel U.S. 69 Highway, beginning Monday, your drive may be impacted.

On Monday, construction crews plan to close the northbound entrance and exit ramps of U.S. 69 at 95th and 103rd Streets for reconstruction and widening.

The southbound entrance and exit ramps at 103rd Street are set to close on Wednesday.

All closures are dependent upon weather conditions.

Starting Monday, March 1, northbound traffic on U.S. 69 will be moved to the southbound lanes to allow for removal of existing pavement and reconstruction of three lanes.

This construction season marks the beginning of the second year on the $82.3 million project. Overland Park contributed more than $6 million to the project, the rest coming from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

U.S. 69 is being widened from two to three lanes in both directions from I-35 to I-435. Construction is set for completion in 2011.

The Kansas Department of Transportation is the administrator of the project.

For more information, call Brian Bozak, KDOT, at 913-764-4525, or Justin Nickel, civil engineer II for the city of Overland Park, at 913/895-6280.
