Tent Permit

A permit is required whenever a tent or air supported structure more than 900 square feet in area is erected as part of a special event. There is no fee for the permit.
The application must be accompanied by several documents:
- The use of the tent (ie. furniture sale, picnic, etc.).
- The time and date that the tent will be up and ready for inspection.
- A site plan showing seat capacity and layout, including:
- Location of the tent and all buildings on the site.
- Location of all exits and mechanical and electrical equipment.
- The flame spread affidavit of the tent material
- A copy of the approved special event permit.
Within 24 hours of receiving the application, a fire inspector will call and confirm the date and time of the tent inspection.
Events with food or alcohol require additional permits from the city.
